A transcript request retrieves captions that already exist on YouTube. Search, copy, language switching, and downloads never use AI credits. The request screen shows the exact cost before generation starts.
Failed or cancelled AI requests do not charge. Reopening a cached AI Note is free.

No. Retrieving a transcript, searching, changing language, copying, and downloading do not use AI credits.
A longer transcript sends more source text to the model. Rounding by source length keeps the allowance predictable and prevents a single long video from using an unfair share of the budget.
