Privacy Policy

We process the public YouTube URL or video ID you submit, the caption language you select, AI summary settings, AI Chat questions, support messages, and account information when you sign in. Do not submit passwords, credentials, private-video access information, or sensitive personal information in a chat question.

We store job status, available video details, selected language, the transcript result, and privately cached AI Notes long enough to provide the workspace. AI Chat messages remain in the current browser session and are not published as public pages. Workspace pages are not submitted for search indexing or linked from public site navigation.

We do not download or store YouTube video or audio files when retrieving captions that are already available for a public video.

If you create an account, our authentication provider processes sign-in information. We use account identity, plan, usage, job ownership, and recent history only as needed to provide account features.

We use a signed device identifier, managed verification when a transcript is submitted, and request limits to protect the free service from automated misuse. The server converts an IP address into a daily rotating one-way value for a rolling 24-hour abuse limit. The usage counter does not store the raw IP address, and an IP address is not treated as the sole definition of a person.

Paid plans are listed on the Pricing page. PayPal is the launch payment provider; subscription benefits activate only after a verified payment event. The service will not receive full card details from the payment provider, and billing, renewal, cancellation, refund, and tax terms will be shown before purchase.

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand page usage, diagnose failures, and improve the service. We do not intentionally send transcript text, transcript searches, AI prompts or answers, full YouTube URLs, or payment details in analytics events. These providers and our hosting provider may process routine device, page, request, and error information under their published terms.

Anonymous workspace history becomes unavailable after 24 hours. Free account history, when account storage is enabled, is retained for up to 7 days. A de-identified cache of public captions may be retained for up to 7 days to avoid retrieving the same captions repeatedly. Security records may be kept longer when reasonably required to investigate abuse or meet a legal duty.

The service may use providers for content delivery and protection, application hosting, reliable access to public caption sources, account authentication, and AI processing. When you request AI Notes or send an AI Chat question, the selected transcript, video title, language, requested output settings, and your chat question are sent from our server to DeepSeek through Volcengine Ark. The provider uses that information to generate the requested result and may process it in countries where it operates under its published terms and safeguards. The caption retrieval, search, copy, and download flows do not send transcript text to the AI provider.

You can delete a workspace shown in your account. To request access, correction, account deletion, or another privacy action, contact support@yttotext.com. We may verify identity and authority before completing a request.

Account registration will not open publicly until a minimum age and any required parental-consent rule have been published.

We will update the date at the top of this page and describe material changes before they take effect when advance notice is reasonably possible.
